David spent 17 years leading Human Resources and Employee Benefits for large employers and has a unique perspective to the challenges of delivering healthcare coverage to America’s employees. Recognizing unsustainable health plan rate increases each year and the rising percentage of costs passed along to employees, David sought new solutions to help manage cost and quality. David founded True Captive Insurance to bring those solutions to market.

Richard Freeborn | Brown & Brown

Richard specializes in working with customers and prospects on their risk management and insurance needs. He assists his customs on their journey to be accepted by a captive, and actively participates in the captive management process by attending board meetings and risk engineering meetings to help ensure they are productive and insightful to members. In 2022, Richard helped Brown & Brown draft their internal training manual on the captive insurance approach. He has been with Brown & Brown since 2006. Richard is married with three grown children, and he and his wife are avid RV’ers and NC State Football fanatics.
