What Are the Different Levels of Pet Insurance Cover?
- Lifetime Cover Pet Insurance – If you renew your Pet Insurance policy, it can provide comprehensive cover throughout your pet’s lifetime, with payouts available for all new conditions up to the policy limits each year. Cover can be extended to include any injuries or illnesses that may arise later, even if they are related to previous claims.
- Time Limited Pet Insurance – A time-limited policy means that there is a maximum claim limit and a 12-month period for treatment coverage, after which you cannot claim for the same condition or if the treatment cost limit is reached. Pre-existing conditions are excluded from this cover.
- Maximum Benefit Pet Insurance – Also referred to as Money limited or Per Condition Pet Insurance, this can provide cover for your pets for each injury or illness up to a specified pre-set limit. It does not cover pre-existing conditions.
- Accident Only Pet Insurance – This can provide cover for treatments in the event of accidental injuries, but does not extend to illnesses, diseases, or additional benefits, nor does it cover pre-existing conditions.
