Thought Leadership
Brown & Brown. Here when you need us most.

The Met Office’s latest figures show that in some parts of the country, January was the wettest on record, with three named storms making their presence known. Over the winter we have supported many of our customers who have been caught up with storm damage and in particular flooding, with one devastating incident standing out. On Saturday 15th November 2025, over 670 homes and businesses in Monmouth, Wales were impacted by flooding which began in the early hours of the morning.
Our dedicated team sprung to action immediately by personally contacting all customers in the area, logging their claims with insurers and sourcing the emergency accommodations needed. On the Sunday, our team visited their customers in the impacted area, at their homes and businesses (which included a care home, a pub, a sports association, solicitors and a wide array of retailers), to make sure they had the support they needed.
Due to the scale of the claims, we set up a dedicated team to support all impacted customers and monitor the progress of their claims, answering any questions customers had and helping them to identify appropriate suppliers. Many customers had lots of their possessions, stock and fixtures and fittings damaged, so we worked with them to build a detailed inventory for their insurers. By Monday morning, all affected customers, both personal and commercial, had been contacted and their claims logged.
Our Brown & Brown Teammates provided both practical and emotional support, ensuring that residents remaining in their properties received hot meals every day and signposting impacted individuals to organisations and agencies providing financial assistance.
With the wet and stormy weather expected to continue this year, Brown & Brown customers can be reassured that in their time of need, we are here for you.
