Flexible Cover For Your Events

Overview

Planning an event comes with plenty to think about, from logistics to safety and finances. Events insurance helps protect organisers against unexpected issues that could disrupt plans or impact income. Cover can include public liability, employer responsibilities, cancellation costs, and protection for equipment like staging or cameras. It may also extend to lost revenue, money handling, and guest non appearance.

Policies can be arranged for single events or annual programmes. From charity fundraisers to large outdoor challenges, having the right protection in place helps you stay focused on delivering a successful event from planning through to completion.

Your Questions, Answered

Events insurance is designed to support organisers if things do not go to plan. It can include public liability from £1m to £20m, along with employers liability for marshals, first aiders, security teams, and instructors. Cancellation cover may be available where criteria are met, including certain weather related risks. Protection can also extend to equipment such as staging, fencing, and cameras, as well as money and loss of revenue. Some policies include non appearance of special guests and cover for exhibitors or organisers, helping reduce financial impact across a wide range of situations.

You can arrange cover for a single event or choose an annual policy if you run events regularly. A one off policy is ideal for standalone occasions, focusing on that specific date and its risks. Annual cover can be more practical if you have multiple events planned throughout the year, helping keep everything under one arrangement. Both options can include liability, cancellation where eligible, equipment protection, and income related cover. We help you look at your schedule and plans so the structure fits how you organise and deliver your events.

A wide variety of events can be considered, depending on the activities involved and how they are managed. This includes running events like triathlons, charity fundraisers, exhibitions, indoor and outdoor shows, swimming events, and motor track days. Outdoor activities such as mountain biking, climbing, and walking events may also be included subject to criteria. Cover can apply to organisers and exhibitors where needed. Some activities are not included, such as skiing events, parkour, and trampolining, so it is important to outline your plans clearly when exploring options.

There are some areas that standard events policies do not include. Wedding insurance is separate and not part of commercial event cover – but we can still help, just talk to us about the details. Activities such as skiing, parkour, and trampolining are generally excluded. Weather related cancellation may also be restricted if cover is arranged within two weeks of the event date. Other exclusions can depend on the nature of your event and how risks are managed. Having clear risk assessments and safety measures in place is important, and we can help guide you towards the right support to strengthen your event planning.
